LECTURE
Observation is an active act of acquiring information through the senses of a subject matter in its natural setting.
Designer and Observation: Observation is also very important to designers because it enables them to see problems as well as getting ideas for solutions.

INTRSUCTION
figure 1.2 Inspirations from Pinterest
From the inspirations I found, I came with the idea of wanting my work to have the soft style and the angle of how I want my design to be.

I first started off with painting the sky.

I used the same sky painting to make my laptop and use distort to adjust. For the desk, plants, and other objects I gave them texture to make it seem more real.

Lastly, I added the mini humans and effects. To make it looks more like sunset I make another layer and set it to multiply, added the color orange and reduce the opacity so it has the orangey atmosphere and I also added more sparkles and bokeh effect to make it look more dreamy.

Rationale
The idea to my work all started when I was reminded of how I spend most of my time on my desk. From there I imagine what If I became mini. What will I do? I will wander around my desk, doing interactions with my other mini-self and look out the window when it is sunset.
Since we need to redesign, I thought of the idea of bringing the clouds into my desk, floating. So, the idea is to combine my desk and the sky from the photograph I took.
I decided to play with some repetition, it can be seen on my plants, the curtains, the repetitive clouds and humans, and some of my art tools. Then for the sky, I used the same family color to create the sunset sky. Lastly, when we look closer to my mini-self, it has a lemon growing on top of my head, it is a symbol that represents how I love lemons.
The effects were then added to make unity, thus
it produces calmness and dreamy in my work.
REFLECTION
Experience
At first, I didn't know how I want my design to turn out, I did picture them in my mind, but I don't know whether it would be the same or not. And of course, the result is different from what I pictured, but that is just how it is supposed to be because I think that nothing can be as similar to what we were thinking.
Observation
In my design, I think lighting plays a big part in it as I made the afternoon sky. It is pretty challenging with perspectives but I ever learned them for a bit back in school so I could do it for a bit.
Findings
Before adding textures to some of the things on the table, I found that they don't look like what I want. So I added textures and just then am I satisfied, also it seems that I am not the type that can wait to put final touches. I feel itchy whenever I couldn't add sparkles to my works.
FEEDBACK
Week 9
I don't really need to depict the space and observe I need to observe my surroundings more.
Week 10
A good development from the sketch before. Try adding more elements of starts to see if they will make the work look dreamy and explain what is the little humans for.
