Week 1
In the first week, we were briefed on what is to be expected throughout the semester and also about our projects, before starting on project 1 we had to do some exercises for the fundamentals, and below are the instructions.
In these exercises series, you are to produce outputs (digital drawings and sculpting tests) that demonstrate the understanding of anatomy. You will have to produce out as listed below:
- Skeletal studies (Human)
- Head Studies (Sketch and Sculpt)
- Muscle Studies (Sketch and Sculpt)
- Hands (Sketch and Sculpt)
- Feet (Sketch and Sculpt)
- Facial Expression (Sketch and Sculpt)
- Posture (Blockout)
Week 2
Since it was still in the beginning we were told to play around with Zbrush and also search for references of human sitting, stretching, action pose, and hero pose, and sketch them out. Below are my sketches plus the references.

Since we were told to play around with Zbrush, I tried sculpting out a skull. Below is the result.

Week 3
For this week's study, I did the same, which is to sketch out the poses. Below is the result.

Week 4
This week I started my study on human muscles, we were told to study the arms first. Thus, below is the result of my study.

Week 5
This week I started to work on Zbrush, after the lectures were given I tried to sculpt the body and head. I must admit that I'm very bad at sculpting the head, so it looks out of place.

Week 6
After the feedback, I tried fixing the head and giving details to it and fixing the body, while doing that, I also added the legs.

Week 7
After finishing the full body sculpt, I went back to some studies on hands, feet, head, and full-body muscle.

I had the sudden urge to color, so I decided to use one of my hand studies and put it in colors.
For the purpose of studying the muscle, I searched some references and directly trace and outline the shape. The muscle parts were all drawn by me as part of the study.

I also had some time to fix my skull sculpt, this time I followed a Youtube tutorial. On my first try, I especially had a hard time sculpting the teeth, thus I tried making them better this time, and below is the result.

Next, I started to sculpt hands based on the lecture given.

Lastly, we had to sculpt the lockout of our character, so for that, I started new and sculpt.

FEEDBACKS
Week 1 - Week 4
- There is no need to immediately add in the details of the body
- You still need to look back at references because right now the box for the head looks flat
Week 5
- The chest is protruding too much
- Usually, if the body is viewed from above, it'll be like a shape of a lip
- The arms are too thin
- Work on the head more
Week 6 - Week 7
- The legs still need to be fixed, remember when placing the legs, don't put them so close together have some space so you can rig them easily later on.
- The face is there but the eyes need to be detailed more and the nose is too sharp
REFLECTION
In the beginning, I still had a good time learning all the anatomy and muscles. However, when introduced to Zbrush, I started struggling. Sculpting the skull and the body is still okay for me, but I mostly had a hard time sculpting the head especially the facial features, it was really hard for me. Even though I watched a lot of tutorials online and followed the lectures, I still struggle. I need more time and practice even further, maybe it was because I am still not used to working in 3D and the Zbrush confuse me a lot. At least, throughout the studies, now I always think of how the muscles are shaped and able to be more precise, I guess. Anatomy is so complicated, so learning this will never be fast, at least for me. Nevertheless, while learning the fundamentals I feel like I have absorbed the knowledge.
