INSTRUCTION

Module Information Booklet

Week 1

The class commences this week, and we were briefed regarding the task we are supposed to complete by the end of this semester. Below are sections of the dissertation that we need to complete:

After the briefing, we were assigned to first complete the literature matrix of our 5 critical reviews done in semester 2 to help our dissertation, and below are materials for this week.

With the help of the notes, I completed my literature matrix. Below is the completed literature matrix.

Week 2

This week we had to complete our literature review and Dr. Hayati gave us other materials as a guide for us to complete the literature review. Below are the materials.

After the feedback session, I finished my literature review, and below is the completed task.

Week 3

The next task for us is to complete part 3 of the dissertation which is the 3.0 Methodology, and below are the materials given as a guide.

Week 4 - Week 7

During these weeks we are tasked to complete our findings, result, discussion, and all the way from abstract to appendices. There are some materials given as guides to complete the tasks.

Since we had to do complete all sections into one file, I decided to compile all the parts into one document and after all the amends to the draft, I finally finished my draft for the dissertation.

FEEDBACKS

Week 1

• The cover page is provided in Teams
• Search online for literature review matrix as a reference

Week 2

• Remember to look at the notes provided in google classroom and take note that the deadline for secti2 is on Sunday
• You can compile the similar parts from different authors to different sub-sections of the literature review

Week 3

• Remember to change the first words starting with (By, From, etc)
• An in-text citation doesn’t need the authors last name
• Put in some figures so the readers could engage more
• Put in conclusion to wrap up the whole thing
• Refer back to references to see whether the mention of company/industry needs to have a specific citation or not
• In point 2.3.1 on paragraph 3, the introduction to the paragraph is confusing, so that needs to be changed.
• The writings are simple and easy to understand
• At the starting of the sentence, numbers are written in their form while at the end of the sentence they need to be spelled. e.g 2008 was a good year to commence university studies…..while there are over a hundred...

Week 4

• Don’t use ‘several parts” because it is too vague
• since the opening for quantitative is quite detailed, make the qualitative method more detailed too and it’s better to have it on a new paragraph
• Don’t use “given above” to state a figure from before, use the point itself, e.g figure 4.1

Week 5

• Bring back what was the research objective and question, add the hypothesis (section 5.0 intro) and then introduce the newly established title
• In each sub-section of section 5, explain the use of the new title including the research objective and research question

Week 6 

• The appendix must have standing in Methodology or Findings, it cannot stand alone
• A conceptual framework is a diagram of your overall research, as the origin or beginning of your research that produces a result.

Week 7

• Change the word “Appliance” because there are a lot of meanings to it.
• Discard the word “Diagram” from your conceptual framework section
• Make sure that there’s a space between the conceptual framework and literature review
• Indent for the online journal citation
• Change your hat and read through all that you’ve written to find out if there is any confusion.
• Read through your section 1 to see if there is a need to change or add.

REFLECTION

While checking for my section 1, I realized that I didn’t conclude every reference into the research and cited it in the wrong format. Gladly, I still have those materials bookmarked and downloaded inside my browser and PC. This made me realize the lack of being thorough. I also found out what has been wrong with how I cited, it turns out that indentation also matters, at first I thought it was only for the purpose of being neat, however it actually affects the whole.
