This was a mistake, but I thought I could put it in as my progress.

Since Greek mythology can't be used, I decided to go with snow white, a classic story. I especially liked the scene when the witch gave Snow White the poisoned apple. It made me realized that we must not trust people easily. In the story, Snow White was tricked and then she fainted, she was too trusting and innocent, not knowing how the world works, and that whatever we did, there is also something that triggers others to hate us even though its not our fault.

We were told to project a decisive moment from a narrative and animate it into a GIF, at first I thought that I could use the story of Pandora's Box but turn out that there are no existing story about Pandora, just some researches about it. So then Miss told me to think of something else, and I decided to go with snow white. I wanted to project the scene where the witch gave snow white an apple. And I found something interesting in their lines.

- Queen: Yes! One bite and all your dreams will come true.
- Snow White: Really?

From there I made my sketches and turned them into an animated file. The idea was to have the witch's hand moving toward snow white like she's offering her an apple and I made snow white cry because I wanted to show how Snow White easily believe in other people's words. And her trust turns out to be doomed for her, because after having one bite of the apple she fell asleep. That's why I have the frozen effect for the animation. I don't want to put the frozen effect in the non-animated image because I want to show that Snow White just fainted when she took a bite, not when the apple was offered.

The animation was done in 1024x768 pix and the work I did was in A4 size so I had to resize it and my work got cropped a little. The Witch's hand in the animation was made lighter in lighting because I wanted to emphasize the movement of the hand.

FEEDBACK

I contacted Miss Anis regarding my sketch and she told me that I need to re-visualize an existing narrative, she told me to think of Hercules form Disney where it has its own art style.

REFLECTION

Experience
I panicked when my first sketch was wrong, because there is only 4 days left before submission and I had other assignments to do. But then when I changed the idea and took a classical story, I found it more interesting than the first idea of using Pandora's Box.

Observations
When I finished coloring my drawing, I don't know what to use as the background so I struggled a lot. I also am a newbie when it comes to coloring and lighting, I had no idea how it works, so I watched tutorials and asked around.

Findings
For the animation, I felt like something is missing from it. So I decided to give a frozen effect, it was a last minute idea and I thought it could depict her fainting, as when we faint the time froze.
